SS. John & Bernard Parish
To grow as a Catholic community, united by the Holy Spirit, living our faith in Jesus Christ and sharing God's truth and love with all people
The coordinator for youth ministry for SS John and Bernard
Parish and St. Joseph Parish, is Chad Roden.
The parish celebrates Youth Mass followed
by a youth program on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
Mass begins at 6:00 and the youth program with food and
activities goes until 8:45. Mass is open to the entire parish and
the Youth Night is for youth from 7th to 12th grade. The youth
group also has "Faith Study" on the 1st, 3rd, (and 5th)
Wednesdays of the month following 5:30 Mass until 8:30 with
food for body and soul. “Faith Study” is a time for high school
students to explore their Faith a little deeper with the youth group’s "Faith Guru" (Jeff Ghering).
Please watch your bulletin for time changes due to other activities that may be going on in the building. The Youth Group is available to all high school youth. The youth group invites 7th and 8th graders to the Sunday evening events.
Some other activities that the youth group participates in are a Corn
Maze, Ice Skating, Kickball, Capture the Flag, Parish Picnic Helpers,
Easter Egg Stuffers, Crop Walk, Habitat for Humanity, Helpers for
Foster Children Christmas Party, Soup Kitchen, Living Stations,
Diocesan Youth Rally, Steubie (youth conference at Franciscan
University), Adoration, most importantly Mass, and more. If you have
a great idea for the youth group, please let them know they are
always interested in doing new and different things.
Please watch the bulletin, e-mail or join Juanita on Facebook to keep up with youth group activities.
The youth group welcomes all adults who are willing to
share their time and love of Christ with the youth of our
parish. Youth minded adults who would like to volunteer
in anyway (providing food, helping chaperone, or monetary
support) should contact Juanita. All volunteers are required
to attend the Diocesan safe Environment Program
"Protecting God's Children."
The program can be previewed using the above link. Contact the rectory for more information on the program and for further details.
